FrameMaker 7 has more than just the maker.ini file and the final version of FrameMaker 7 does indeed give an error message if pre-final versions of FrameMaker 7 maker.ini is found on your system. If you get into this situation, I would recommend the following. Totally uninstall FrameMaker 7. Then, make sure you totally blow away (i.e., delete) the the directory into which FrameMaker was installed. Next search your system for all copies of "maker.ini". FrameMaker 7 actually creates a personalized version of "maker.ini" by userid. Under Windows 2000 and XP, you will find these in: C:\Documents and Settings\xxxxxx\Application Data\Adobe\FrameMaker\7.0 where "xxxxxx" is a userid. Each user of the system gets a "maker.ini" file in their corresponding "Documents and Setting" directory. Under Windows'9x/Me (bless your poor souls), the path name is different, but a search will yield the exact locations for you. Delete all these user-based "maker.ini" files. Finally, reinstall FrameMaker 7. The problem should be gone. Note that this is only an issue for some beta test users of FrameMaker 7 under certain situations. If you were not part of the FrameMaker 7 beta program, you will not experience this problem. (However, you might want to remember what I have told you above about the location of the by-userid "maker.ini" files!) - Dov At 7/28/2002 12:50 PM, Becky Swanson wrote: >Has anyone else had problems with their production FM7 install?
