I too misread Eric's inital message and mistook opening a book file for "opening files in a book", or, more specifically, generating/ updating a file, such as a TOC, which automatically checks and updates any cross-references within the book. For such a drastic change to take place in the delay time during which a book is opened from one version to another, specifically from 5.5.6 to 7.0, is absurd. I too am still using 5.5.6 for reasons similar to Lin's (and to think I was looking forward to the possiblilty of an upgrade!), and I shudder to hear of such "features" in the new version. ~John John DeStefano CPI Coordinator/Information Designer Product and Document Management Ericsson, Inc. At least I confined myself to talking about 556--I haven't even _seen_ FM7. My company won't upgrade. *shaking impotent fist at the bean counters* On 23 Jul 2002 at 18:19, Thomas Michanek wrote: > From: "Craig Ede" <craig.ede@medtronic.com> > > Geez, and there were all those customer requests for Book level > > features coming from 5.5.6 users some years back... > > From: "Lin Sims" <linda.sims@verizon.net> > > Geez, louise, folks. Lin Sims Of course I'm willing to take 'No' for an answer, so long as 'No' was the answer I was looking for. ** To unsubscribe, send a message to majordomo@omsys.com ** ** with "unsubscribe framers" (no quotes) in the body. **
