Re: PDFs and font kerning - correct with some printers, incorrect wit h others?



(1) Note that Distiller 4.0 was replaced by 4.0.5 quite a while
ago. All registered users of 4.0 were supposed to receive a CDROM
with Acrobat 4.0.5. However, I don't think that this is the problem
here.

(2) You didn't indicate which version of Windows the PDF file is
being printed under and likewise, which version of Acrobat / Acrobat
Reader is being used to print the PDF file from:

        (a) You might see if updated PCL drivers are available for
        the version of Windows you are running from. Many of the
        drivers are buggier than an entomology lab and have more
        errors than an early Mets game!

        (b) You might see whether the problem persists with the
        combination of Acrobat / Acrobat Reader 5.0.5 and the
        latest PCL drivers for printing of the document in question.
