Verner, I am assuming that you are looking for tools to organize and track files and changes rather than to translate the documents themselves. We use Microsoft Visual Source Safe to do this. The Engineering department uses VSS as our standard repository system for both code and documents. We in Tech Pubs also use it for Frame files because it is available. We also use it for all files that are translated. I have no idea how much VSS costs, but I expect that you can find this information on the Microsoft web site. Here we have issues of version control and reuse of drawings and standard text insets. We want a cost-effective solution. Are there any scenarios with FrameMaker involved? Maybe an XML solution? I have heard of expensive document management tools but I am sure that that is not an option for us.
