Amy, First question I would have is whether you are currently encountering any problems that would make you believe that OS corruption is indeed the cause? If not, leave things be! Trying to track down doggy-droppings from old OS versions would take significant time and effort as well as advice from someone who is really both a Windows NT 4 and Windows 2000 expert. (I am not!) The simplest thing, though, would be to look for ANY file in the C:\WINNT\ file structure with a creation earlier than mid-1999. That MIGHT indicate that the file partition existed during Windows NT 4 days. For that matter, look for the creation date of directory C:\WINNT itself. Earlier than 2000, you likely had Windows NT 4 "upgraded". If so, the best bet is the clean install. - Dov At 5/29/2002 08:32 PM, Dick Gaskill wrote: >First, if there is any question about the OS, clean it off and do a "clean" >Win2K install.
