Hi Ian - I just tried and I don't think there is a way to delete multiple master pages through the menus. You should be able to delete them all in the MIF though. I just had a quick look inside one of my MIF files and here's how it seems to work. All the pages in the document are stored in a block: master pages, then reference pages, then body pages. You're interested in the Custom master pages, which are identified by these attributes: PageType=OtherMasterPage PageTag='Foobar' (where Foobar is the name that appears in the Master Page Usage dialogue box and in the status bar when you View > Master Pages). Each one of your custom master pages is specified by a block of attributes starting with <Page and ending with > # end of Page. So, in theory, based on my wide experience in this area stretching back over the last ten minutes, all you need to do is: - save the template as a MIF file - open it in a text editor - search for the string OtherMasterPage - delete the <Page ... > # end of Page block for each custom master page - save the file back as a Frame document. The usual cautions apply -- save an emergency copy of the original template so you can start again if you make a mess of your working copy; be very careful that you delete the whole block of attributes and nothing else. Unfortunately this only fixes the template and any new documents you create from it. If there are any existing books containing the surplus master pages you'll need to fix them all manually. MIF Meisters, please write now if my advice to Ian is bad... BTW, if you're going to be fooling around with MIF files I suggest you download Graham Wideman's excellent MIFBrowse utility: http://www.wideman-one.com/ Regards --- Stuart Burnfield Gentoo Communications mailto:stuartb@tpg.com.au ** To unsubscribe, send a message to majordomo@omsys.com ** ** with "unsubscribe framers" (no quotes) in the body. **
