I'll skip the rest of the discussion, but in answer to #4, both WebWorks 
Publisher and MIF2GO are way more reliable, customizable, and configurable. 
I believe that both have demos; the WWP demo is good for 15 days, which is 
just enough for you to figure out that it's going to take more than 15 days 
to learn it.

Get save as HTML out of your workflow. It's not robust enough for anything 
except quick and dirty conversions.
