No, but I can tell you anyway that it wouldn't work. IXgen is an API client, that is, a binary executable file. It is compiled for a particular OS/platform/processor. An executable file for SunOS/Solaris cannot be executed on an HP-UX system, period. > It would be used with FM+SGML 6.0. Failing use > of IXgen on HP Unix, are there other indexing tools > that can be used with this setup? The only other indexing tool I know of is IndexTools by Silicon Prairie Software: http://www.kagi.com/SPSoftware/ But they only have a UNIX version for Solaris, not HP-UX... If you're looking for a better user interface for creating and managing index entries, I think you're out of luck for HP-UX (unless FM 7.0 has improved on it--don't hold your breath...) It's possible to write a script that would extract index marker text out of MIF files and present or manipulate them in other ways. It depends on exactly what you want to do and how. I have thought of doing something like that for UNIX. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Thomas Michanek, FrameMaker/UNIX/MIF expert mailto:Thomas.Michanek@telia.com (Sweden) http://go.to/framers/ - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Join the low-volume "Free Framers" mailing list: send an email to majordomo@omsys.com with "subscribe framers" in the body ** To unsubscribe, send a message to majordomo@omsys.com ** ** with "unsubscribe framers" (no quotes) in the body. **
