First, some terminology: @ host file, contains the text inset, which is imported from the @ source file, containing the imported content. What about selecting each of the conditioned text ranges in the source and also applying an exactly congruent, overlapped condition of ShowInset? Because overlapped conditions will display the conditioned text range if only ONE of the conditions is visible, you can use this to display the text inset with @ 'no' conditions by setting ShowInset to visible in the host, OR @ to show only the conditions visible in the host by setting ShowInset to be hidden in the host. Does this fit what you want to do? I have a text inset that is in a separate file from my working document. In some cases, I want it to be conditionalized in my working document, in others, I want it to be unconditional. And I can't import the inset as plain text because it contains formatting itself (bullets, etc). I can't make it conditional in the source, because I don't want it to always be conditional. When I make it conditional in the destination, the conditional text tags disappear each time I update my references (unless I import as plain text, which isn't an option because of the formatting I mentioned earlier). Has anyone seen a similar problem? I'd really appreciate any help you can provide. Please reply directly to me as I am on digest. Thanks!
