Hello, people. If someone needs the Frame 6 work under Windows XP and has a crash when FM opens a document that contains unresolved links to graphics, he/she may contact me off-list for the workaround details. Many frame people have asking me last six months about the workaround for this crash. The workaround presents last few months. The workaround is simple and based on the same technique as the tuning and customizing of an analog of Frame's fmsgml.ini/maker.ini preferences in Macintosh platform. Without doubt, the crash has happened die to the FrameMaker very small but critical bug only, not because of the MS dialog API error. PS. I already informed Lee Richardson and Dov Issaks about two week and half about this workaround. I would dislike quoting the answer I have got from Lee yet, just let's hope the Adobe "New Downloads" web site page for FrameMaker would help soon against this crash. Regards, Dmitri. To my knowledge, there is no fix. Maybe Microsoft is working on one? I know Adobe is working on a new version of FrameMaker, I would expect that new version to be fine with WinXP. Have you tried moving the missing graphics to the expected location? "they" work extremely hard on this since months. maybe they will fix this with WinXP Service Pack 6 or FrameMaker 7. ;-) - Gerd -----Ursprungliche Nachricht----- Von: Deborah A Bruggeman [mailto:Deborah_A_Bruggeman@raytheon.com] Gesendet: Donnerstag, 28. Februar 2002 14:43 An: framers@FrameUsers.com Betreff: Windows XP I am using FrameMaker 6.0 with Windows XP. Does anyone know if there are any patches that I need for XP. I find that I am getting quite a few internal errors when I am trying to open a file that has imported artwork. If I select skip importing file my document crashes. Does anyone have any ideas?
