Hi Hedley! Some additions to this Offtopic... >[...] > This is because these browsers no longer accept or support the Mozilla > interface for plug-ins. Formerly, the same browser plug-ins could be > installed in IE, Opera, Netscape, etc. because they all implemented a > common interface. That's really true... The only thing Microsoft ist willing to support in the future ist their own Plugin-Interface ActiveX (replaces the formerly Netscape-plugins) and the .NET-Thing (intended to replace Sun's Java-Stuff). >[...] > Now, can anyone tell me how to make Netscape 6.1 the default > browser, that is, the one that launches when you click on an URL > in a document or email message. I have twiddled the Internet > Options control panel and file extensions associations in the > Folder Options dialogue, but STILL Internet Explorer launches > when I click an URL. That's simple: Open Netscape. Go to the "Edit"-Menu. Choose "Preferences". On the right Tab choose "Advanced" and then "Windows Integration". Choose the File-Types Netscape should open and click the checkbox "Check that Windows is set up to match these preferences...". Done! Don't forget to disable the Preference of IE to "Check if IE is default browser" for not to unset the settings of Netscape. Happy Browsing :) Martin BTW: Instead of Netscape you can also use the Mozilla-Browser. You find it at http://www.mozilla.org/releases/. The Netscape Browser is the same as Mozilla, the engine is in Netscape a bit older and there are a lot of additions in Netscape you don't need. I would recommend the Mozilla Browser. ,_, (@,@) ( ) "The software said Windows95 or better, so I got a Mac..." -"-"------------------------------------------------------------------ Martin Eisenbarth martin.eisenbarth@wekamedia.de Operator EP Phone ++49-(0)8233-239314 WEKA MEDIA GmbH Fax ++49-(0)8233-239360 Industriestrasse 21 ISDN ++49-(0)8233-239396 86438 Kissing Germany http://www.wekamedia.de ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ** To unsubscribe, send a message to majordomo@omsys.com ** ** with "unsubscribe framers" (no quotes) in the body. **
