Can't display any graphics but .wmf

Folks,

Just recently I had a problem that while printing to the Distiller, FM 6.0 
could only display .wmf. Anil from Australia gave me a tip to redo the 
book, which fixed that particular book.

Now, I have a bigger book and the same problem. Any graphic format but .wmf 
gets me the message that FM can't display the imported graphic.  If I have 
to convert a little over 200 files to .wmf, I will probably quit my job. 
And, even if I convert them, the ratio of about 20 to 1 file size will 
definitely put me in the market for a large hard drive.

Does anyone have any ideas? Windows 98, 128 megs, lots of disk space (now).

By the way, I did redo the book. 3 times. no joy.
