Subject: Frame File "Locked by ( )" Phantoms

Using FM 6.0 in a Unix environment, in which Frame is licenced for about 18 users, the following exasperating phenomenon has occurred all too often: When trying to save a file, a warning message appears indicating that the file is "locked by user ()" (i.e., no user is specified). As a result, the file can not be saved. A possible bypass has been to save the file under a new name, delete the original.lck file (which has a size of 0 bytes), and rename the newly named file with the original name; however, I fear that cross-reference data is lost by doing this. Can anyone tell me why this problem occurs and how it can be avoided? Barring a solution, perhaps, a better workaround can be suggested. Thank you, Barry Meislin National Semiconductor ** To unsubscribe, send a message to majordomo@omsys.com ** ** with "unsubscribe framers" (no quotes) in the body. **
