How about the following: Currently, a text inset's conditions are controlled by the container document's settings. How about an upgrade that allows you to specify the condition settings of each text inset individually. This would allow the same inset to be imported several times in a document with different settings for each instance. Have something like the table ruling control where some are 'from table' others are overrides. Each condition would then either be 'from container' or be set to show or hide. This should also prevent conditions from populating the container document. The only time a condition would populate the container is if it was set to be "from container". The removal of the inset should then automatically remove the condition from the container. Add the possibility of having the same be true for variables. They either pick up the values from the container or keep the values from the inset file. Same type of dialog as for the conditions. This would allow global and local variables. Maybe even allow the variable to be defined in the inset settings, which would give the flexibility of three possibilities: from inset, from container, or defined value. If the variable was defined in the settings or in the inset, FM would not populate the container file with the variable definition. Just add those to my growing list of wishes..... Eric L.
