Didn't see any replies to this so, here's one way to do it. In the last file of your book, put a text box on one of you masterpages. In the textbox, place a paragraph formatted in white so it does not print (give the paragraph format a easily identified name). Now in all your otherfiles, crossreference to this paragraph. These instructions are very clearly stated on page 344 of the 5.5 User Guide. Now my question is, why doesn't Adobe have a system variable for book page count? Eric L.
