Thomas, You have made one bad assumption and that is that Acrobat 4.05a does not come with a driver. It does come with a version of AdobePS for Windows'9x, Windows NT 4, and Macintosh (on the Mac version of Acrobat, of course). The installer should setup that driver for you automatically including the PPD file. When you want to upgrade to the latest versions of AdobePS (or the Windows 2000 PostScript driver), simply download the Universal PostScript Windows Driver Installer from the Adobe web site. Run it and indicate that you simply want to update the driver version. - Dov At 9/9/00 09:44 AM, Thomas Michanek wrote: >Exactly how are you meant to install Adobe's printer driver and >subsequent printer instances using PPD files, in particular the >virtual printer intended for distilling PDF files? > >I thought I understood this process, but I've become somewhat >confused myself when trying to help out another FM user. >Maybe you have done this and can help me get it right? >Maybe Adobe needs to update and clarify their instructions? > >>>> Let's say you have a PC with Windows NT 4.0 and the complete >>>> Acrobat 4.0x package, but not the AdobePS printer driver. ** To unsubscribe, send a message to majordomo@omsys.com ** ** with "unsubscribe framers" (no quotes) in the body. **
