Framers and Acrobats: I created a test document in FrameMaker with a hypertext marker containing "newlink TestDest" to create a named destination. Next I distilled the file and created a TestNamedDest.pdf document. Folklore says that the file can be opened at the page containing the TestDest named destination from an Acrobat-enabled browser with the URL file:///C:/myfiles/TestNamedDest.pdf#TestDest or file:///C|/myfiles/TestNamedDest.pdf#TestDest The correct document opens but not at the location of the named destination TestDest. The Using Adobe FrameMaker manual (v. 5.0) says that FM hypertext commands are converted to the corresponding PDF links but doesn't give any details for each command. Thomas Merz's book PostScript & Acrobat/PDF (first edition, August 1996) doesn't have anything useful. The pdfmark Reference Manual shows how to name destinations with the pdfmark operator but I want to avoid this method in favour of FM only solutions in the source files. Can any Frame and Acrobat experts help? -- Regards, Hedley Finger Technical Writer [FrameMaker 5.5.6, Acrobat 3.02, Windows 98, HP OmniBook 2100] Ericsson Australia Pty Ltd Tel. +61 3 9301 6214 Cell. +61 412 461 558 Fax. +61 3 9301 6199 Email. hedley.finger@ericsson.com.au Hand Holding Projects Pty Ltd Tel. +61 3 9809 1229 Cell. +61 412 461 558 Fax. +61 3 9809 1326 Email. hfinger@handholding.com.au ** To unsubscribe, send a message to majordomo@omsys.com ** ** with "unsubscribe framers" (no quotes) in the body. **
