The following snip raises an interesting point: <<< SNIP >>> As a general question, how are we supposed to find out all these details? We are seriously considering Adobe support options, because otherwise we can run around in circles forever with installation and driver version issues. In our software development company, the IT expertise is in networking and OS setup. I wind up doing much more troubleshooting and legwork and system administration than I'd like to, because no one is specialized in Frame/Adobe/PostScript/PDF support. <<< ENDSNIP >>> My little island of FrameMaker users at Medtronic (runs completely different than all our other islands large and small) is supported by Adobe Technical Support. Nevertheless, we still encounter numerous problems dealing with internal IT support regarding the PSfont/ATM/PhotoShop-Illustrator/Frame/PSdriver/PDF product suite. It's impossible for your standard IT group to understand all the intricacies of publishing using Adobe technology without a serious dialogue. I'm interested in hearing what other companies do in this regard. How do you handle your department specific IT issues that are beyond their scope? We're sharing our knowledge (generated via email lists, browsing the Adobe web site, attending FrameMaker conferences, etc.) with factions of the IT group in hopes of generating executable objects which will automatically manage an OS and Adobe product suite image that includes print drivers, fonts, obscure settings, order of installation, etc. that has proven to be so critical. Just curious, Jason Aiken Still a Frame Templar, no matter what I learn about Arbor Text ** To unsubscribe, send a message to majordomo@omsys.com ** ** with "unsubscribe framers" (no quotes) in the body. **
