Along with Support Document 324684 (Recommended Printer Drivers for Creating PDF from FrameMaker (Windows or Mac OS)), I can thoroughly recommend these other documents: Support Document 321408: Recommended Settings for Creating PDF Files Using Acrobat Distiller http://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/165de.htm Support Document 319033: Recommendations for High-End Settings in Acrobat Distiller 3.02 http://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/13136.htm Support Document 319266: How Acrobat Distiller and Acrobat PDFWriter Handle Fonts http://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/12f6e.htm In the past I've set the Distiller Job Options by reasoning what 'should work' based on 'how they look'. Don't do that. My 23 MB PDF with some graphics that looked dreadful is now a 6 MB PDF with sharp- looking graphics. Off-topic: VirusScan users, beware of the 5.0 upgrade. I installed it and had four crashes in one day (a lot even by Windows 98 standards). I took it off, and no crashes since.
