I use Filtrix from >http://www.blueberry.com. There is also Mif2Go offered by >http://www.omsys.com. A bit of a correction. The original question was about *import* to Frame from Word. Mif2Go only does *export* from Frame to Word (and WinHelp, HTML, XHTML, XML, MS HTML Help, and JavaHelp). So Mif2Go will not help anyone trying to import Word docs, nor do we have any near-future plans to add this. The existing filters are indeed problematic. We suggest that anyone trying to use them remove any graphics first, and save in RTF format.... Then do the import on a machine that is not running anything else, with lots of memory and disk space (the requirements depend on the document), and be prepared for a long wait. Mac users might want to consider the DataViz filters, though we have no experience with them... A last resort would be to save as plain text in Word, with returns at the ends of paras (not lines), and import *that* into a new empty Frame doc. -- Jeremy H. Griffith, at Omni Systems Inc.
