So, anyone who's serious about XML/HTML conversion must still buy the
top-end version of WWP and install it over the "standard Edition" that comes
with V6.0.

You will recall that a light (very light) version of WWP was bundled with
V5.1. It was useless, and was nothing but a come-on. Looks like they've done
the same thing again.

It also appears that the V6.0 FrameMaker+SGML cannot import XML document
instances, and that structured docs created in FM+SGML cannot be exported as
fully compliant XML with XSL style information derived from EDD format rules.

If, as it now appears, Unicode is not implemented in V6.0, then clearly
V6.0, which comes more than 4 years after the initial release of V5.0, is
the end of the line for FrameMaker. That conclusion will certainly be
confirmed if many of the bugs, fixes for many of which (e.g., footnotes)
have been pending since V4.0, are not fixed in V6.0.
