In other words, no. ================================================================== So, anyone who's serious about XML/HTML conversion must still buy the top-end version of WWP and install it over the "standard Edition" that comes with V6.0. You will recall that a light (very light) version of WWP was bundled with V5.1. It was useless, and was nothing but a come-on. Looks like they've done the same thing again. It also appears that the V6.0 FrameMaker+SGML cannot import XML document instances, and that structured docs created in FM+SGML cannot be exported as fully compliant XML with XSL style information derived from EDD format rules. If, as it now appears, Unicode is not implemented in V6.0, then clearly V6.0, which comes more than 4 years after the initial release of V5.0, is the end of the line for FrameMaker. That conclusion will certainly be confirmed if many of the bugs, fixes for many of which (e.g., footnotes) have been pending since V4.0, are not fixed in V6.0. ==================== | Nullius in Verba | ==================== Dan Emory, Dan Emory & Associates FrameMaker/FrameMaker+SGML Document Design & Database Publishing Voice/Fax: 949-722-8971 E-Mail: danemory@primenet.com 10044 Adams Ave. #208, Huntington Beach, CA 92646 ---Subscribe to the "Free Framers" list by sending a message to majordomo@omsys.com with "subscribe framers" (no quotes) in the body. ** To unsubscribe, send a message to majordomo@omsys.com ** ** with "unsubscribe framers" (no quotes) in the body. **
