No Unicode support! I thoroughly looked at the What's New information for both FrameMaker and FrameMaker+SGML on the Adobe website. Nothing indicating that a full implementation of Unicode is there. I also did a search on the word Unicode for the entire website. Got 60 hits, none of which pertain to FrameMaker. If 6.0 doesn't support Unicode better than 5.5.6, then the product isn't ready for prime time, and cannot produce XML that meets W3 requirements for the use of Unicode rather than entity references. The lack of a full Unicode implementation also means the 6.0 product is not ready for prime time in the translation industry. There, Word 2000 will continue to eat Adobe's lunch. ==================== | Nullius in Verba | ==================== Dan Emory, Dan Emory & Associates FrameMaker/FrameMaker+SGML Document Design & Database Publishing Voice/Fax: 949-722-8971 E-Mail: danemory@primenet.com 10044 Adams Ave. #208, Huntington Beach, CA 92646 ---Subscribe to the "Free Framers" list by sending a message to majordomo@omsys.com with "subscribe framers" (no quotes) in the body. ** To unsubscribe, send a message to majordomo@omsys.com ** ** with "unsubscribe framers" (no quotes) in the body. **
