Customizing default formats

Title: Customizing default formats

Whence come the default formats (Body, Emphasis, Format A, etc.) in a new document on UNIX/Windows/Macintosh?  I seem to recall at least with version 4.0 there was an empty document, devoid of text frames even, that stored this information.  Munging around in Windows there doesn's seem to be any obvious file that does this.

Is there any way to change these to your OWN defaults?  Or is it hardcoded into FM itself?  For years I have wanted to do this ... and FrameScript certainly supplies the means.  But, as ever, if there is a cheap, dirty, and quick alternative, that's for me.

(Now I have this great one-line script that <confidential>opens a new 150 x 200 mm document with 15 mm margins -- da! da! </confidential>.  Took me all of five minutes to copy it out of the FrameScript Scriptwriter's Reference.  Perhaps I can get a job on TV as a scriptwriter after I have 12 month's experience.)

[FrameMaker 5.5.6, Acrobat 3.02, Windows 98, HP OmniBook 2100]
