SUMMARY: Conditional Documents at the Fi

The consensus approach is to use multiple book files. Thanks for
the many helpful replies I received.

I would make the observation that multiple book files will require
multiple generated ToCs, indices, and any other generated files
to correspond with the name of the book file(s). Careful file
management would be especially important.

Thanks again

Has anyone prepared conditional text documents in which some
files are in one version of a book but not in another version?
For example, we have developed a manual for software that runs
under UNIX and Windows NT (and other platforms too). The UNIX
version has three appendices; the NT version has only one. And that's
just one example...
