I have a little problem... I have an FM document in which I have imported a number of PDF files showing drawings. These are imported into anchored frames in the same way as an EPS file would have been, but I must use PDF files in this case. When I generate a PDF for the document, the size of the PDF file becomes too large (more than 3 MB). No matter what Distiller options I try, I cannot reduce the size. I've tried not including any fonts, downsampling all graphics to 100 dpi, etc. The thing is that all of the PDF graphics still print out at the highest resolution. I guess this is the reason for the "bloated" PDF. Are imported PDFs somehow unaffected by the job options, in particular downsampling of graphics? Are they "passed through" without being compressed by the Distiller? Using FM 6.0p405 on Windows 2000, Acrobat 5.05, Print to PS file followed by manual Distilling. _____________________________________________ Thomas Michanek, FrameMaker/UNIX/MIF expert Technical Communicator, Uppsala, Sweden mailto:Thomas.Michanek@xxxxxxxxx http://go.to/framers/ _____________________________________________ ** To unsubscribe, send a message to majordomo@xxxxxxxxx ** ** with "unsubscribe framers" (no quotes) in the body. **
