Problem with special fonts

I found a new problem with fonts.

I did a special font for a customer that uses very large characters.
This font was developed when this customer was using Windows 98.
Now, changing the system to Windows XP, the font doesn't spaces
correctly.

Tested with InDesign 2 and Word the font display and spaces as
expected; with FrameMaker, all the characters that have widhts greater
than some value spaces equal.

Somebody saw something similar?
