Becky Swanson is correct about view settings, etc., but there's a more likely explanation. If your doc contains graphics imported by reference, text insets (set to auto update), or links to other files, FM updates them upon opening the file. The Save command is enabled immediately, before you so much as move the cursor (Save is disabled when there's nothing to save). Richard ------ Richard G.
