Irregular cursor blinking on Win2K

Hello,

I'm using FM6 on Win2K.  The cursor seems to skip
a beat ever 2 blinks or so.  So that means either
it's an unblinking bar, or it's not there.  Very
annoying trying to find the insertion point when
it isn't there, or is camoflauged.  What would
cause that?  Is there any way to make it blink
without skipping a beat?
