Re: PDF problem: document info

Thomas,

There is no out-of-the-box way to change the doc info or author fields in Frame 5.5.x without PDFmark. Surely you've seen or heard about Shlomo Peret's wonderful TimeSavers? He explains some of these issues in detail on his web site at http://www.microtype.com. His software does allow one to use hypertext markers to hold the PDFmark code, rather than the usual PS code frames.

I think that the header.ps (attributable to FrameMaker) applies the default Frame-related doc info. The different versions behave a bit differently, and Shlomo's manual for the TimeSavers explains this all in excellent detail. I don't meant to sound like a commercial here, but there are many esoterica Framata illuminated via Shlomo's Frame to Acrobat lectures (or you can just order the software and the manual).

See Shlomo's web site for more information. I've taken the class, used the software, and found ways to apply PDFmark technology to a completely different SGML software architecture.

Best regards,
Jason Aiken

Yet another PDF problem...

We print an FM document to PS file with Acrobat Data turned on,
on 3 different systems:
A) Windows 2000 SP1, FM+SGML 5.5.6, updated PSCRIPT driver
B) Windows NT 4 SP5, FM+SGML 5.5.6, AdobePS 5.1.2 driver
C) Windows NT 4 SP5, FM+SGML 5.5.0, AdobePS 5.1.1 driver

What's the reason for these different results? Is there any
way to control the title and author, or to get consistent
results, without editing in Acrobat 4.05a afterwards, or
using special PostScript text frames in FM?
(And YES, I realize we should have identical system set-ups...)
