Re: changing a book's page layout



Your printer / service bureau is making you do THEIR work. They
are asking you to do what is called imposition. You should NEVER
try doing this in FrameMaker. It is a royal pain in the butt to
hack around like this. Then what happens when you need to add pages
or make serious modifications?

Best way to proceed would be to keep your book as is in FrameMaker.
Create a PDF file with the 8.5x7 logical pages. In Acrobat, use the 
"Quite Imposing" plugin from Quite Software to impose these pages 
onto 8.5x14 sheets per your printer's specifications.
