PDF to tex or dvi

Does anyone have experience in translating
pdf to dvi or tex? What technique do you use?
Or ps to dvi or tex.

If someone considers suggesting .mif , what
quality of replication did you achieve?

Most of the tools seem to go the other
direction like dvips or dvipdfm. I am
thinking that html conversion will result
in loss of integrity. I have spent hours
researching this on www and deja.
