RE: Discontinuous footnotes

Sorry this is so late...  I was on the road.  I haven't seen
an answer to this, so...

In the Format > Document > Footnote Properties dialog box,
you can set numbering to restart on page one, or to begin at
a specified number.  Yes, this is a manual method, but once
you have the content set, you can go through and set up the
footnote numbering for a series of files to continue on as
though they're a single chapter.
