RE: collating a book new printer

Debbi,

Just a suggestion.
You could print the book as a PostScript file and use a utility (they're
commonly available on the net as freeware, or ask your printer vendor)
that'll send the .ps file to the printer. The last one I used dumped the .ps
file into the print/spool queue in seconds, and then I could just do it
again.

Subject: collating a book new printer

I have gone braindead. I just got a new HP 8100 DN printer. I can get it
to duplex but can not get it to collate books the way I want it to. When I
print 2 copies a book with the collate option in print checked it prints the
cover 2X then the toc 2x then chapter 1 2x etc. So, it sort of understands
but It won't print the book pages 1-100 and then 1 to 100 again.

I assume this is because it sends each chapter of the book to printer as its
own print job. I have used other HP workgroup printers and really thought I
could collate.

I am not sure if this is a frame or driver problem but I am stumped.
