C++ and FDK

I'm learning FM+SGML (thanks for the prompt shipment, Highsoft!) and want   
to learn the Frame/SGML developer application, but I do not have C or   
C++.

Can anyone recommend a good self-study book on C/C++ ? I do have some   
programming background. Any other comments, advice, warnings, etc. will   
be gratefully and humbly accepted.
