Hi all-- I just installed a bunch of "new" fonts on the Macs at home. And every program I use recognizes them and is happy -- EXCEPT FRAME. Frame gives me a wonderful 'font installation error' message, and then tells me that I should re-install the fonts. The Frame console has error messages that refer to the font IDs not matching the resource IDs Anyone know how to fix this? I tried installing the fonts as per the MacOS 8.6 Bible, through ATM, with TrueType and PostScript versions, and they still refuse to work. (And I found the OS 8.6 help includes nothing about fonts. Ugh.) Yep, I know this is in the archives, but the search engine didn't include it in the first two hundred hits.... And another, maybe-related problem: sometimes, you can pick a combination of font angle, weight, and variation, and get the message that the combination is not available. Then you go to the "<name> Condensed" font, and the *only* available option is the one that you couldn't get from the "<name>" font. (For example, Times + italics + bold + condensed is available ONLY IF you use "Times Condensed", rather than just Times.) And a third problem: the Georgia font on the PowerBook screen looks like it is supposed to look. And it looks fine on the beige G3's screen. And in print? Suddenly it's in italics! Suggestions, anyone? Co-miseration? (systems: beige G3, OS 8.6, 256MB RAM; "Lombard" G3 PowerBook, OS 8.6, 64?MB RAM; Epson 900 printer) Thanks bunches, Ananda (Banttari) Stevens Technical Publications Specialist, Diab-SDS (ISI) ananda@sdsi.com ** To unsubscribe, send a message to majordomo@omsys.com ** ** with "unsubscribe framers" (no quotes) in the body. **
