art; framemaker does not import an entire document, only entire flows. if you put your text fragments in discon nected flows, each with its own flow letter or number. then you only need one document full of fragments. when you import text by reference as a text inset you specify the flow you want. hedley (e.e.cummings) finger FM is an OLE client (if you'd like it to be a server too -- email Adobe a function request), but you can easily embed an entire FM file in another FM file. Just use File Import. The hitch is that you can only do a complete file, not a portion as you can with Word and other OLE server aps. -- Regards, Hedley Finger Technical Writer Ericsson Australia Pty Ltd StarHUB NMOSS Project Level 34.66 Melbourne Central Tower Elizabeth Street Melbourne VIC 3000 Australia Tel. +61 3 9301 6214 Cell. +61 412 461 558 Fax. +61 3 9301 6199 Email. hedley.finger@ericsson.com.au Hand Holding Projects Pty Ltd 28 Regent Street Burwood VIC 3125 Australia Tel. +61 3 9809 1229 Cell. +61 412 461 558 Fax. +61 3 9809 1326 Email. hfinger@handholding.com.au > -----Original Message----- > From: Campbell, Art [SMTP:artc@northchurch.net] > Sent: Friday, August 20, 1999 4:41 AM > To: 'jeremy@omsys.com'; Framers@FrameUsers.com > Cc: Wim Hooghwinkel > Subject: RE: Link to other FrameMaker > > FM is an OLE client (if you'd like it to be a server too -- email Adobe a > function request), > but you can easily embed an entire FM file in another FM file.
