Subject: query: Acrobat 4 vs. Frame printing or PS fonts?

Folks, I'm running Frame 5.5.3 on Win95. I installed a eval copy of Acrobat 4.0, later discovered that my previously perfect PostScript fonts were exhibiting classic TT/PS printing errors (bad kerning, missing punctuation, extra spaces within words, non-breaking spaces that shift to the wrong side of the preceding character, etc.). So I uninstalled Acrobat 4 and then FrameMaker reported that the module "esfmdde.dll" was missing (it didn't keep me from working but...). OK, I've reinstalled FrameMaker 5.5.3 and Acrobat 3.01 from the CD-ROM. I've deleted and reinstalled local fonts from server copies. I've gone into ATM and removed all fonts and re-added them from the fresh copies (which DID get me a message from Frame that all my fonts had changed, and I lived in glorious hope for five minutes...). And I've cold-booted both the Windoze box and the network printer. I'm still getting junk output (from a previously cooperative HP 5si hooked up across an NT network that I can't muck with). Should I start re-installing printer drivers? Any OTHER suggestions? (Please reply directly by email; I get the digest and my digests have been pretty sporadic of late.) Adobe, this is a very bad sign.
