Creating Index markers automatically

Platform: Win95, FrameMaker 5.5.6

Problem:

I am creating templates for the transition of our manuals into Frame.  I am
currently working on our Parts Book format.  In our current manuals, we have a
numerical index that lists all the part numbers in the manual with each entry
being separate. Duplicate part numbers exist as separate entries.  I would like
to know if there is a way to create a paragraph tag that includes a index
marker, either a custom or standard marker.  Manually creating 15 or 20 markers
per page (on average) for an average of 300 pages to be marked is a monumental
task, even when there is document reuse (currently approximately 30%).
