Info from Dov ... Re: 4.0 Problems w/Helvetica

I am copying a Acrobat group post from Dov Isaacs regarding this issue.

Acrobat 4 supports all fonts just as did previous versions.  It is a question
of what fonts are shipping (free) with Acrobat.

Acrobat 4 certainly does fully support any and all fonts including
Times and Helvetica. The difference in Acrobat 4 is that Adobe no longer
ships Helvetica and Times as part of Acrobat.

(1) If you have an existing PDF file that references Times or Helvetica and
does not have it embedded, Acrobat 4 will display it with Monotype Times New
Roman or Monotype Arial, respectively. Both of these fonts have set widths
equivalent to Lino Times and Helvetica.

(2) If you set the Distiller to embed ALL fonts and Times and Helvetica
are otherwise installed on your system and included in your PostScript file
that gets distilled, the Distiller does in fact embed those fonts.
