Re: Variations in importing SGML docs into FM+SGML



Dan,

The bug that I mentioned at the beginning of this stream
doesn't apply to isoents for special characters. The
performance hit was only for entities which were converted to
variables. While I don't believe that the bug applies to
5.1.1, I do think that converting entities to variables
requires more time than say, appending prefixes to elements.

   The purpose of the benchmark file was to prove that variations
   in EDD complexity are not a major factor in the time is takes
   to import an SGML document instance. You are incorrect in
   stating that the benchmark file has no entity references.
   It has many references to ISO character entities, some of
   which (e.g., fractions) are converted to variables.
