Dan, The bug that I mentioned at the beginning of this stream doesn't apply to isoents for special characters. The performance hit was only for entities which were converted to variables. While I don't believe that the bug applies to 5.1.1, I do think that converting entities to variables requires more time than say, appending prefixes to elements. You are incorrect in stating that the benchmark file has no entity references. It has many references to ISO character entities, some of which (e.g., fractions) are converted to variables. ============================================================ ==================== | Nullius in Verba | ==================== Dan Emory, Dan Emory & Associates FrameMaker/FrameMaker+SGML Document Design & Database Publishing Voice/Fax: 949-722-8971 E-Mail: danemory@primenet.com 10044 Adams Ave. #208, Huntington Beach, CA 92646 ---Subscribe to the "Free Framers" list by sending a message to majordomo@omsys.com with "subscribe framers" (no quotes) in the body. ** To unsubscribe, send a message to majordomo@omsys.com ** ** with "unsubscribe framers" (no quotes) in the body. **
