In case anyone missed them, Dan Emory's two wise responses to my question about how to conceal character formats used to format autonumbers: 1) "What you could do is rename the Bold character format to something like #Bold. You'd then establish with the writers that any format in the character or paragraph catalog that is not to be used by them is preceded with the # symbol." Which is what I will do. 2) "Why would you worry about that since, if Bold isn't in the character catalog, they'll use Format > Style > Bold to do the same thing, which is even worse, because you can't search on and remove the ad-hoc formatting?"
