Hi Framers, Thanks to all who have responded so far. It doesn't look like there is a perfect solution to this problem. Most of the suggestions involve re-defining the problem: making the ToC entries span the side-head (I may not do this, not allowed), changing the font size (no-no!), changing the word-spacing (works for some paras, but then screws up other paras, and I hate overrides... besides, it doesn't work all the time) A couple of people suggested inserting a forced return into the text. I had already tried this; it doesn't work. It doesn't carry over into the cross-reference. And of course, you can't insert anything into text generated by a cross-reference. Rick (FrameExprt@aol.com) suggested converting the offending entry to text and inserting a forced return when it is time to go to print. Yes, that works, but requires a lot of manual intervention. On the other hand, it is the only solution that works without doing violence to the formatting constraints. Thanks again to all who responded. If I hear anything else I'll post it to the list.
