<reply cross posted: Acrobat, Framers, FrameUsers> Patrick, It depends upon what you are trying to accomplish in your PDF. How complicated is the formatting? Also, fortunately, I have not had to deal with Access, thus I don't know how difficult or not it is to write reports. You do not indicate a) what platform you are on and b) whether this is a one-time job or if it is repetitive. If the formatting is relatively simple and if it is a repetitive type of job, I would write reports in Access that tag the text using FrameMaker's MML (Marker Markup Language??) codes. The MML manual is in the on-line with the FrameMaker Help and is easily printed out. I have used this feature to handle data coming from a legacy Xenix (remember that?) Informix database, transferring data over a serial line to a real unix system, then using the MML files in Win95 Framemaker (553 back then). It works GREAT as long as MML will do what you want -- and it may or may not have the features that you need. -- Jay Smith e-mail: jay@jaysmith.com The Press for History(tm), The Press for Education(tm), The Press for [Your Industry](tm), The Press for....(tm) On-demand printing and binding of hardbound books.
