Dina,

Like you, I don't know how you'd enter a one-off nonbreaking backslash, but
to make 'em ALL nonbreaking, use the pulldown menu selection: Format >
Document > Text Options.  On the dialog, there's an entry field titled
"Allow Line Breaks After".  If you remove the backslash from that list of
characters, they'll no longer be eligible for line breaks.
