Jay Smith wondered if he was out of bounds on a recent post. For what it's worth, I'd have to say "sort of" -- the out of bounds part, for me, was in *quoting* the person's question - general netiquette says don't repost someone's words without their permission. On the other hand, if you felt the issue was worth bringing up on the list, it would be easy to do something like, "Someone asked me offline about how to use Frame to create a Thingummy, and since I think it may be of general interest, I'm posting my reply to the list." That way, you respect the original writer but still bring the issue out publicly. And if you were copying your reply to the writer, I would actually even do a Blind CC to let them remain anonymous.
