This approach might, in response to a middlewear job ticket, cause the assembly of a customized EDD on-the-fly from granular chunks of existing EDDs (stored in MIF format). Also, customized templates could be assembled on-the-fly by, for instance first importing the customized EDD, and then perhaps importing page layouts, reference pages, variable definitions, etc. from one or more existing templates. Once the customized template is fully configured, the XML instance delivered with the job template would be imported into the assembled template.
