I am guessing you are talking about a different version of Xpath transform ~ but its not really my space so I am not sure. I use a frame plug in called FrameSLT which is a cut down version of Xpath which I can use on Structured FrameMaker (SFM) docs without having to do the whole round-tripping to XML. So I can transform inside Frame without having to learn all of XSLT. If you are porting XML content from other applications keep using XSLT. If you just want to manipulate SFM docs then maybe have a look at the plug in.
