So then I have to change the graphic frame to > uncropped and size the graphic appropriately. You've encountered one of the shortcomings or "quirks" of FM: there's no easy way to change some of the default settings for new objects. But in your case I would do the following: Instead of directly importing the graphic, first create an anchored frame (Special > Anchored Frame). In the dialog, set a width and height of your liking and the other options as you like to have them. Then import the graphic into the frame. The next time you bring up the dialog, FM remembers the settings and you only have to acknowledge, and then import the next graphic. If you learn to use the keyboard shortcuts, you can use: Esc s a Return Esc f i f to insert the anchored frame and import the graphic. There are also some third-party utilities for inserting objects such as anchored frames, like Auto-Text (see http://www.siliconprairiesoftware.com/Products.html ) ___________________________________________ Thomas Michanek, FrameMaker/UNIX/MIF expert Technical Communicator, Linkoping, Sweden mailto:Thomas.Michanek@xxxxxxxxx ___________________________________________ ** To unsubscribe, send a message to majordomo@xxxxxxxxx ** ** with "unsubscribe framers" (no quotes) in the body. **
