Are you sure it's not a display problem? Change the zoom.
Sometimes the bold atrribute "disappears" at low zoom levels.

Does the problem exist when you apply the tag manually (not
using the Autonumber) to selected text?

Finally, do you have Helvetica installed on your system,
including the Bold face? Or do you rely on having a
PostScript printer as your current printer (that is,
printer-resident fonts)? That could be a possible problem.
