border around graphics from XML

hi all

Is there a way to put a border around a graphic automatically when
importing XML?
This can be accomplished manually by using the pen tool... is it
possible to set this property from the XML or r/w-rules?

Is using tables the only way?
Or should we include the border in the EPS-files?
